Frequently asked questions
It’s very easy. You have to fill out this form, and I will reach out to you for a slot, and we can get started
(In case the slots are full, you will automatically be waitlisted, and if the need is urgent, I will try my best to connect you with another therapist)
Therapy is a process where the therapist (qualified with a master’s degree in Psychology) and the client work together through talking or non-verbal forms like art to address the concerns of the individual and help them with it.
When you are talking with your friend, they listen and help you with their own experiences, beliefs, and life strategies(Basically what worked out for them and what they believe On the other hand, with respect to a therapist, they are trained to help you using a scientific and evidence-based understanding of how the brain, behaviour, emotions, and thoughts work and come from an objective stance rather than a subjective stance, unlike friends)
For example, A therapist trained to handle panic attacks might use a grounding technique or teach Polyvagal exercise to regulate your nervous system, while a friend might tell you “to calm down” or cheer you up with your favourite movie/pizza.
This is unique to each person. Although our first few sessions will be focused on understanding you better and establishing goals for our therapy. We might review where we are with respect to our goals for therapy from time to time. Once our goals for therapy are achieved, we can mutually discuss and terminate.
It again depends on person to person. Usually weekly one session is enough. Sometimes, based on the needs -it can be two sessions per week.
I wish there were a single line answer that could be a criterion for every human being. Although Success or working out doesn’t have to be big changes (definitely they do happen) they can feel like... [e.g., feeling less 'stuck,' noticing your patterns before they happen, having more 'good days,' feeling more compassion for yourself]
Yes, you can, provided your native language matches the languages I can offer sessions in. The languages I offer sessions in are as follows: English, Hindi, and Marwadi. I do know Tamil and can understand it very well. But when it comes to speaking and taking sessions, my fluency is intermediate
I charge Rs. 1500 per session. However, I also offer few sliding scale slots.
Currently, I offer only online/virtual sessions. So it doesn’t matter whether you reside in either part of India or abroad. I can connect with you flexibly at your convenient place virtually.
Sessions scheduled need to be cancelled at least two hours prior to the session. Last-minute cancellation needs to pay the no-show fees.
It will be great if you can inform us a little prior.
